We Need Your Help!
As a volunteer there are many jobs you can do that will free our staff to spend more time helping the dogs and cats. 

Volunteer Opportunities May Include:
Event Volunteer

Hours Worked: typically on Saturdays or Sundays; hours depend on the event

Duties: transport supplies and animals to and from the event, set-up and break down cages and crates, care for dogs during the event, speak with potential adopters, talk to the public about the shelter, and help with the event as needed

Cat Socializer

Hours Worked: needed at the shelter daily between 9AM – 5PM

Duties: pet and play with cats and kittens, clip toenails, brush fur, during hours the shelter is open to the public assist with showing cats to potential adopters, report observations about the behaviors of specific cats to shelter staff

Laundry

Hours Worked: needed at the shelter daily between 9AM – 5PM

Duties: pet blankets, towels, and other items create a backlog of laundry that takes up valuable staff time.  Come do laundry with the shelter's washers and dryers.

Hours Worked: needed at the shelter daily between 9AM and 5PM

Duties: bathe and dry dogs and puppies,
brush dogs and cats, clip toenails, and
report any skin medical issues observed during grooming

Dog Walker

Hours Worked: needed at the shelter daily between 9AM – 5PM

Duties: take dogs out for walks, socialize dogs, report observations about the behaviors of dogs walked to shelter staff.

YOU MUST BE AT LEAST18 YEARS OLD.

Hours Worked: days and times vary, generally week-days

Duties: take cats and dogs to the vet’s office to be spayed/neutered or for medical treatment

Yard Worker

Hours Worked: days and times worked are flexible

Duties:  mow the grass, edge around the sidewalks and trails, trim bushes, weed flower beds, rake leaves, lay mulch, remove branches from trails.

Write Letters

Hours Worked: Work from home!

Duties: write thank you notes or letters to donors, volunteers, sponsors, and other writing jobs that come up.
